Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Almeta Crawford

The Columbia Roughnecks will square off against the Almeta Crawford Chargers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Columbia lost 4-1 to Fort Bend Willowridge on Saturday. Sebastian Olguin was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Columbia's goal came courtesy of Pablo Monterroso, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Almeta Crawford brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Stafford on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Spartans are ranked 266th).

Almeta Crawford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5-2. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 8-5-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
