Soccer Game Preview: Elgin vs. Altus

The Elgin Owls will venture away from home to challenge the Altus Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elgin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Elgin fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Noble on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Elgin have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Altus' offense. They fell just short of Duncan by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Altus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1.

Elgin beat Altus by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
