Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin entered their tilt with Padua Franciscan on Saturday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Bruins. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lexi Simon was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Wooke, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in six consecutive contests.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Padua Franciscan, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
