Football Recap: Plainview Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Plainview was the 35-28 winner over Dumas when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the loss, Plainview still got an impressive performance from Seth Mayberry, who threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards. The Bulldogs' leading receiver Jordan Porter was Mayberry's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one score.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dumas, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Plainview will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lubbock-Cooper at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.75 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Dumas, they will head out on the road to square off against Bushland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
