Softball Recap: Zion Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Zion Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 12-4 takedown of Loretto last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Zion Christian Academy fell just short of Loretto by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Tuesday.

Charlee Cheek made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Even though they lost, Zion Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Zion Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Loretto, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zion Christian Academy will square off against South Haven Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loretto, they will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
