Basketball Recap: Mountain Mission Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varsity Opponent on Thursday, Mountain Mission came back down to earth. The Mountain Mission Challengers fell just short of the Tri-Cities Christian Eagles by a score of 51-49 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Challengers have suffered since January 10, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Mission lost, don't look at Annah Chacha. Despite the final result, she shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Chacha is also crushing it when it comes to field goal percentage: she's posted at least 0.55 every time she's taken the court this season. Gladness Peter was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

It was another big night for Emery Haws, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 18 points and eight boards for Tri-Cities Christian. Another player making a difference was Emma Jaworski, who posted nine points and four steals.

Mountain Mission's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Tri-Cities Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-11.

As of now, neither Mountain Mission nor Tri-Cities Christian have any future games scheduled.
