The Wildcats unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Woodland Wolfpack on Thursday, falling 48-13. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Brayden Rogers had a dynamite game For the Wolfpack., throwing for 255 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 110 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Those five passing touchdowns gave Rogers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mokiece Jones Jr, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two scores.

The Wildcats didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-7 loss against the Wolverines on the 22nd. As for the Wolfpack, they have also already played their next game, a 20-16 victory against the Greyhounds on the 22nd.
