Volleyball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

Stratford was the 3-0 winner over Deer Park when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer on Tuesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Stratford ultimately came up short, they really made Deer Park work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 24-26, 25-22.

Gwen Koss paced Stratford's offense, picking up 12 kills. Koss were helped by Audrey Cook and Caroline White, who contributed 18 assists each. Koss was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 23-15. As for Deer Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-16 record this season.

Stratford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Heights on the 30th. As for Deer Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Atascocita on the 30th.
