Basketball Recap: Nimitz Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Nimitz challenged Spring on Wednesday. The Cougars lost to the Lions on the road by a 57-40 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 58-55 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Among those leading the charge was Jaylan Tran, who shot 80% from the field on his way to 18 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Daeshaun Tapplar was another key player, putting up seven points.

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Spring, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12.

Nimitz has already played their next matchup, a 63-54 loss against Dekaney on the 17th. As for Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-45 win against Aldine on the 17th.
