Baseball Game Preview: Pueblo West Cyclones vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

The Pueblo West Cyclones will venture away from home to take on the Vista Ridge Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo West's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Vista Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pueblo West is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pine Creek just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6.

Vista Ridge not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since April 13, 2024. Everything went their way against Crescent Valley as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Vista Ridge got a great performance from Ricky Flugel as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Flugel a new career-high.

At the plate, Edwin Gutierrez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Reisdorfer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Vista Ridge's record now sits at 3-4. As for Pueblo West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
