Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Panthers vs. Sunset Bison

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Sunset. The Panthers will face off against the Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

If Hillcrest beats Sunset with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 11-4 win on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Hillcrest got a great performance from Jayden Pescador as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Khari Bass was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julio Longa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Sunset, they moved to 15-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
