Basketball Game Preview: Flora Wolves vs. Edwards County Lions

The Flora Wolves will head out to square off against the Edwards County Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Flora will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Flora is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Newton on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Flora was dealt a 53-22 defeat at the hands of Newton. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Eagles are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Edwards County's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of Mt. Carmel. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.

Flora's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Edwards County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Flora ended up a good deal behind Edwards County in their previous meeting back in January, losing 53-36. Can Flora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
