Morton had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They never let the Galesburg Silver Streaks get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on Saturday.

Camden Taylor looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Andy Ballard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Andrew Brooks was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Morton pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Galesburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morton will square off against Metamora at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Galesburg, they will take on East Moline United at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Silver Streaks surely won't give up without a fight.
