Basketball Recap: Caprock Academy Takes a Loss

Caprock Academy played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 62-29 loss at the hands of the Plateau Valley Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Cowboys are ranked 103rd).

It was another big night for Jack Vig, who dropped a triple-double with 16 points, 11 boards, and 12 assists for Plateau Valley. Vig is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last ten games he's played. Jackson Bevan was another key player, going 7-for-13 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Caprock Academy dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Plateau Valley, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Caprock Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-36 loss against Green River on the 15th. As for Plateau Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-12 win against Soroco on the 15th.
