Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Desert Oasis extended their postseason success on Friday against Sierra Vista. They never let the Mountain Lions get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Diamondbacks, who have now won eight contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Ali Perkins was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Perkins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Veyda Simon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Arabella Carlin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Desert Oasis' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Desert Oasis will challenge Foothill at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Diamondbacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. Sierra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
