Soccer Game Preview: Newton North vs. Lincoln-Sudbury

The Newton North Tigers will challenge the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Newton North's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Newton North fell victim to Framingham and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Newton North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Framingham are ranked ninth).

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lincoln-Sudbury and Concord-Carlisle meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Warriors skirted past the Patriots 2-1.

Lincoln-Sudbury's win bumped their record up to 2-5-2. As for Newton North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
