Basketball Game Preview: Crandall Pirates vs. Terrell Tigers

The Crandall Pirates will take on the Terrell Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Crandall saw some tournament action on Saturday. The contest between them and Walnut Grove didn't end well, with Crandall falling 67-52. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Wildcats are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Terrell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 50-46 win over Harmony on Friday.

Terrell's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Crandall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Crandall against Terrell in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured an 83-25 win. In that matchup, Crandall amassed a halftime lead of 34-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
