Basketball Recap: Rockland Piles Up the Points Against Sho-Ban

Rockland entered their tilt with Sho-Ban on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed by the Sho-Ban Chiefs to the tune of 53-20. With the Bulldogs ahead 33-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Rockland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calyn Permann led the charge by putting up five points in addition to nine assists and eight steals. With that strong performance, Permann is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Permann, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Rockland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Rockland is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.4 points per game. As for Sho-Ban, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rockland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockland's defense has only allowed 25.7 points per game this season, so Aberdeen's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sho-Ban, they will take on Leadore at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
