Volleyball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short at Home Against Brighton

Westlake unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Brighton Bengals on Thursday, falling 3-0. If the Thunder were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bengals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westlake was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

Kamylle Te'o paced Westlake's offense, picking up eight kills. Te'o got some help from Leiema Fano and her eight assists. Fano was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Westlake has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Corner Canyon on the 19th. As for Brighton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Park City on the 19th.
