United and Purchase Line are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Lions will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m. United is looking for their season's first victory.

United came up short against Ferndale on Tuesday, falling 19-3.

Meanwhile, while Purchase Line put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Northern Cambria. The Red Dragons blew past the Colts 7-0. Considering the Red Dragons have won five games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylee Mahaffey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Mahaffey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alorra Phillips, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Walker, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Purchase Line's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for United, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

United couldn't quite get it done against Purchase Line in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
