Softball Game Preview: Clifton Mustangs vs. Bergen Tech Knights

The Clifton Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Bergen Tech Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Bergen Tech took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Clifton, who comes in off a win.

Clifton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Eastside on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Ghosts with a sharp 19-1 win. The Mustangs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Sydney Reeb looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Clifton got a massive performance out of Casey Mullen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Josephine Zagorski was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bergen Tech came up short against Passaic County Tech on Friday, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Natalie Wexler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Clifton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bergen Tech, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
