Recap: Williston Red Devils vs. The Rock Lions

After losing to The Rock Lions the last time they met, the Williston Red Devils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Williston strolled past The Rock with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 52-34.

Williston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kierce Solomon, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Solomon has scored all season. Janiyah Span was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

The Rock lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stella Chigha, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Chigha hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Niyah Jones, who scored 12 points along with four steals.

Williston's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for The Rock, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williston will take on Chiefland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Rock, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on West Port at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully West Port focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
