Soccer Game Preview: James Monroe vs. Caroline

The James Monroe Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Caroline Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

James Monroe fell victim to Eastern View and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cyclones, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Caroline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to Courtland. While losing is never fun, Caroline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Courtland are ranked 82nd).

Caroline's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for James Monroe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.
