Baseball Recap: Harding Drops Season-High Score on Richmond Heights

Harding had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Richmond Heights Spartans get on the board and left with a 30-0 win. The Skippers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Elijah Harless was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Nick Merson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Harding hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richmond Heights struck out seven times.

As for Richmond Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Richmond Heights' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Rice, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Looking ahead, Harding will be playing in front of their home fans against Pymatuning Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lakers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Skippers surely won't give up without a fight. Richmond Heights will be paying especially close attention to Harding's match: after Harding faces off against Pymatuning Valley, they'll take on Richmond Heights again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
