Recap: Manual Thunderbolts vs. Denver West Cowboys
The Manual Thunderbolts waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 70-58 win over Denver West. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Marquell Marquez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Marquez is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Fox, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Denver West still got an impressive performance from Jayden Volion, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Volion has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Dallas, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Manual's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Denver West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manual will take on Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forge Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Denver West, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Far Northeast W at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Far Northeast W comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
