Soccer Game Preview: Anaheim vs. San Marcos

The Anaheim Colonists are taking a road trip to take on the San Marcos Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anaheim's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Anaheim didn't have quite enough to beat Santiago and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Colonists came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 790th).

Meanwhile, San Marcos waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Dons 3-0.

Elliot Grey and Jose Ramirez scored all three of San Marcos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

San Marcos pushed their record up to 12-5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Anaheim, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-5.
