Volleyball Recap: McMinn County Comes Up Short

McMinn County managed to slip by Walker Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cherokees came up short against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Cherokees' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

While McMinn County had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.

McMinn County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Walker Valley, they pushed their record up to 6-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McMinn County will take on Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Walker Valley, they will face off against Cleveland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
