Basketball Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short

Brookfield lost against Lawson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Brookfield Bulldogs lost to the Lawson Cardinals at home by a 59-44 margin.

Lawson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Willoughby out in front who went 6 for 10 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Willoughby has scored at least a third of Lawson's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Phipps, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

Brookfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Lawson, they pushed their record up to 7-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield has already played their next contest (against Polo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lawson will take on South Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
