Softball Recap: Pleasant Comes Up Short

Pleasant had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-7 to make it seven. They lost 19-0 to the Clear Fork Colts. The game marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

As for Clear Fork, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Clear Fork's part, Presley Lilly looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lilly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Melodie Blubaugh was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailly Thrush, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Pleasant didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Cardington-Lincoln on the 21st. As for Clear Fork, they have also already played their next game, an 8-1 defeat against Anthony Wayne on the 18th.
