Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Nazareth Area

Nazareth Area won the last time they faced East Stroudsburg South and things went their way on Wednesday too. Nazareth Area put the hurt on East Stroudsburg South with a sharp 16-6 win. The Blue Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.

Avery Kauffman looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Emma Infantino and Alina Weaver did most of the damage at the plate: Infantino scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Weaver went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those runs were Infantino's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Wismer, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Nazareth Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Stroudsburg South only posted an OBP of .333.

Nazareth Area's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for East Stroudsburg South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
