Basketball Recap: Lenoir City Panthers vs. Carter Green Hornets
Lenoir City was the 73-54 winner over Carter when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lenoir City Panthers took a 68-49 bruising from the Carter Green Hornets on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Green Hornets are ranked 73rd).
Carter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion Oliver, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in points. Naviyon Shipe was another key player, going 8 for 10 en route to 16 points along with five boards and three steals.
