Amari Latimer Delivers Best Performance of Season

Sandy Creek was led to victory by Amari Latimer, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Latimer's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 127 rushing yards. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards.

Trinity Christian's probably Not too fond of Latimer given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2024 (the last time Latimer saw the Lions), he rushed for 123 yards and three TDs on only eight carries.

Garrison Edwards's big game helped extend Troup County's winning streak to five on Friday. Fayette County had no answer to Edwards as he rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 60 yards and a pair of TDs.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

Troup County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. Edwards and the Tigers will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Upson-Lee at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.

Malachi Character continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 17th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least five total tackles. He produced his best game of the campaign: he forced one fumble and made 15 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

If history really does repeat itself, Character might just drop another big game when he faces off against Mary Persons on Friday. When Character last faced the Bulldogs back in September of 2024, he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
