Baseball Recap: Roswell Comes Up Short

Roswell was the 18-4 winner over Lovington when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Roswell Coyotes fell 8-5 to the Lovington Wildcats on Friday.

Roswell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joaquin Bolanos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Bolanos also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Elias Lujan was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Roswell's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lovington, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Roswell will face off against New Mexico Military Institute at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roswell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Lovington, they will venture away from home to face off against Kermit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
