Softball Game Preview: Miller Buccaneers vs. Alice Coyotes

The Miller Buccaneers will square off against the Alice Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miller will be strutting in after a win while Alice will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Miller turned things around against Ray on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Texans. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Buccaneers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Isabella Campos was a standout: she scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kayla Washington was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Miller was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alice's offense. They lost 14-0 to Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on Tuesday. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alice's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Miller, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.
