Baseball Recap: Kiski Area Comes Up Short

Kiski Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greater Latrobe Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on Monday.

Zach Hald made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Noah Matson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Kiski Area's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Greater Latrobe, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Kiski Area didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 win against Gateway on the 12th. As for Greater Latrobe, they will take on Franklin Regional at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
