Basketball Game Preview: Four Corners Coyotes vs. Hope Academy Trojan Tigers

Four Corners is 0-3 against Hope Academy since February of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Four Corners Coyotes are taking a road trip to square off against the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Four Corners came up short against New Dimensions and fell 69-62.

Meanwhile, Hope Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 73-62 victory over the Panthers.

Hope Academy's win came from a few key players Four Corners will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Willie Griggs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January. Nathaniel Boyer was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Hope Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Hope Academy's record now sits at 7-2. As for Four Corners, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Four Corners was taken down by Hope Academy 93-60 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hope Academy's Dwayne Foreman III, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Now that Four Corners knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
