Basketball Recap: Mercy School Institute Takes a Loss

Mercy School Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 45-17 loss at the hands of the Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy N/A. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-18 back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mercy School Institute lost, don't look at Lujayn Alkalani. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points. That was a full 100% of Mercy School Institute's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Mercy School Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.

Mercy School Institute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-16 defeat against Webster on the 16th. As for Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy, they will face off against Mingo Valley Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
