Baseball Recap: Rimrock Gets the Win

Rimrock not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 (when they won 35-14). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ronaldo Gomez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Gomez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those seven stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rimrock got a massive performance out of Trevor Carothers, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Carothers has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kas Bachman, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Rimrock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rimrock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Rimrock will welcome Wilder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they have already played their next game, a 16-12 win against Garden Valley on the 16th.
