Baseball Game Preview: Tolono Unity Rockets vs. Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs

The Tolono Unity Rockets will challenge the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tolono Unity will be strutting in after a win while Mahomet-Seymour will be coming in after a defeat.

Tolono Unity is headed out to face Mahomet-Seymour after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Tolono Unity's way against St. Teresa on Monday as Tolono Unity made off with a 14-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Coleton Langendorf made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Langendorf was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tolono Unity got a massive performance out of Tre Hoggard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Brayden Henry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Mahomet-Seymour kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Peoria Notre Dame by a score of 13-12.

Gavin Bailey and Camden Heinold did some serious damage despite the final result: Bailey scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Heinold scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Bailey has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Orton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Tolono Unity couldn't quite get it done against Mahomet-Seymour in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can Tolono Unity avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
