Basketball Recap: Dresden Comes Up Short

Dresden lost against Westview back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dresden Lions were beaten by the Westview Chargers 75-44. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Chargers are ranked 138th).

Westview found their leader in sophomore Miles Brown, who went 7-for-9 en route to 19 points. Brown also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 78%. Another player making a difference was Miami Woolridge, who posted eight points and four steals.

Dresden's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Westview, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Dresden didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-56 loss against South Fulton on the 21st. As for Westview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-57 win against Ripley on the 22nd.
