Baseball Recap: Poway Takes a Loss

Poway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Monday.

Owen Digenan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kieran Langdown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for La Costa Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

While Poway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
