Basketball Game Preview: Roseau Rams vs. Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies

The Roseau Rams will square off against the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Roseau's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Roseau will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County], who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Roseau snuck past Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] with a 67-63 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, Warren-Alvarado-Oslo won against Goodridge/Grygla on Tuesday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Warren-Alvarado-Oslo put the hurt on Grygla-Gatzke with a sharp 64-41 victory. Given the Ponies' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Eagles are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warren-Alvarado-Oslo has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Roseau, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Roseau came up short against Warren-Alvarado-Oslo in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 89-77. Can Roseau avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
