Basketball Recap: Rapid River Comes Up Short

Rapid River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Norway Knights 89-41. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Knights are ranked 91st).

Rapid River's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Norway, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Rapid River will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manistique at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Norway also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Forest Park at 6:45 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
