Soccer Recap: Middleton Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Middleton has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison West Regents on Tuesday. Middleton fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Madison West since Tuesday.

Middleton's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-2-1. As for Madison West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-0-1.

Middleton and Madison West should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked seventh) will meet Sun Prairie West (ranked 68th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Madison West will take on Waunakee at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 57).
