Recap: Sandia Matadors vs. Rio Rancho Rams
The Sandia Matadors entered their tilt with the Rio Rancho Rams with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Sandia walked away with a 72-62 victory over Rio Rancho on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Thomas Adams was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmil Crayton Johnson, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Rio Rancho still got an impressive performance from Jayden Johnson, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Kevin Archuleta was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Sandia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Rio Rancho, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
