Softball Recap: St. Charles vs. North Point Eagles

If St. Charles was feeling good off their 18-0 takedown of Westlake last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Charles lost 18-2 to the North Point Eagles on Thursday. St. Charles has not had much luck with North Point recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

For North Point's part, Alyssa Blaney made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over five innings pitched. Blaney has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Blaney was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, North Point got a massive performance out of Morgan Dow, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Dow continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for North Point, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

St. Charles will face off against McDonough on Monday. As for North Point, they will be playing at home against Oxon Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
