Basketball Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Madison East last Thursday, Middleton came back down to earth. The Middleton Cardinals fell 70-60 to the Oregon Panthers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Oregon, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

We've got a battle between Cardinals coming up. Middleton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Sun Prairie East likes a good challenge. As for Oregon, they will host Milton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
