Baseball Recap: Elkmont Takes a Loss

Elkmont was the 20-2 winner over Whitesburg Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elkmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corder Hobbs, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Elkmont's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Whitesburg Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season.

While Elkmont had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
