Basketball Game Preview: Curlew Cougars vs. Northport Mustangs

The Curlew Cougars will face off against the Northport Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Curlew came up short against Selkirk and fell 64-51.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northport). They blew past Columbia, posting a 101-23 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs who have now won eight contests in a row.

Northport's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.9 points. As for Curlew, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Curlew took a serious blow against Northport in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 81-29. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Curlew was down 46-13.
