Basketball Recap: Pocahontas Takes a Loss

Pocahontas lost against Brookland back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pocahontas Redskins came up short against the Brookland Bearcats, falling 60-36. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Bearcats are ranked 33rd).

Pocahontas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Brookland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocahontas will host Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Highland has three straight wins, Pocahontas has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Brookland, they will welcome Blytheville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
